| Okay, so because I don't want this to be moxed up with my fan-art, I thought I'd just put it here. So here it the title page. Sorry Glenn, your hair is a bit off. XP Not very good at drawing more than one person in a scene, espeically at different angles like this. Anyway, plz comment. Prelogue: I observed from the other side what was happening. I observed everything for what would be the last time. After today, everything was going to change. If only I knew then. If only someone had some idea of what disastrous destruction was about to be caused. Nonetheless, it was time for an end, and a new beginning, in mankind.

| I was standing in the hallway, ready to step into my next class; books piled, one on top of the other, resting in both of my arms. Out of nowhere, a high-pitched voice screamed through the hallway and into my ears. I rolled my eyes, assuming it had come from some stupid kid looking for attention. Surely, they were going to get it at this school, with all the strict disciplinarians and high-standard teachers. I turned my head a few seconds after I heard the scream, just to see who it was that shrieked. I may as well, it’s not like I didn’t have the extra five seconds. What I saw was not the answer to my question, but the prologue of all my future problems in the coming days. Indeed, it was a large wave of ferocious fire, heading dead center towards the spot I stood. I felt myself gasping for air as my heart rate sped rapidly up the meter. My entire body went numb as fear overtook my senses, and all of my belongings were dropped. Instincts un-freezed my body and rushed me into the classroom at blinding speed, as if that mattered. I noticed people turning towards me as I slammed the door shut behind me, my breath still coming uneasily. There was no where to hide that would protect me, no where to run that would get me away from the lethal fire attack; it was all over. My mind was rubbed blank as my mind processed the door in front of me splintering and burning. Everything around me had turned white, then black, then white again. I could feel stuff happening around me, but nothing made sense. Everything was a blur and yet everything felt right. So this was what dying felt like…

| Manga format could actually be either way, but I'm going left to right for the sake of it's easier for me to draw that way. XD Good question, and thanks. I've had this for a while but cba to upload. ^^' | |

| I'm going to just post the damn and get the manga up later. Because otherwise I'll never get this done. When I awoke, naturally, I didn’t realize what had happened. For the first ten seconds, I thought I was still in bed, completely safe from harm and still well and alive. This obviously wasn’t what happened, and that became apparent fairly quickly. I realized something wasn’t right when the scent of burnt metal, plastic, and a putrid salt wafted through my nose. My eyes flung open with alarm, and my body shot up of it’s own accord as I took in everything around me. Nothing, I repeat, nothing, was left of the school. The only things visible were large, crumply-looking fields of brown and black soot. The horizon was visible in all directions, creating a scene right out of a horror film, except without the scary orchestral music. To be honest, I think the music would have been nice, anything but the absolute deadness of the land. There was no sound, no music, no humming, no talking, no crying, no nothing. It was blank. The silence was so loud it was ear-splitting. Weakly, I took a step backwards, almost falling down in the process. How was it that everything was gone, but I was still there? I felt perfectly fine (physically anyhow), and I didn’t have any broken bones. Hell, I didn’t even have a bruise on me. Just spots of soot! Why me, why was I still here? I felt my eyes sting as tears started to escape from their enclosed prison. I didn’t try to stop them, why should I? It’s not like anyone was going to see me. | |
