A Journal: Dreams, Fiction, and Nightmares Empty
PostSubject: A Journal: Dreams, Fiction, and Nightmares   A Journal: Dreams, Fiction, and Nightmares Empty12/22/2016, 2:21 am

Inspired by real-world daydreams, nightdreams, nightmares, and everything in between. A reflection of subconscious madness at its best and worst.

"It's a Hell of a feeling though."

She stood at the bar, drink in hand. Taking a small sip, she smiled as a tall man walked toward her. Wordlessly she downed the rest of her drink and turned toward him. Hand in hand, they walked wordlessly to the center of the dance floor. An elegant ballroom dance for two in the midst of couples. Everyone seemed to be oblivious of their dance, which is what they always wanted.

Or at least that's what she told herself. Deep down she knew, despite her love for this man, that there was a inkling of desire in her heart to see another man suffer. She would literally kill to see the jealousy in his eyes. For him to know that he lost someone of immeasurable value.

She wanted him to hurt the way she was hurt. To feel the same loss of a happy future that she felt. She knew it was a selfish and impossible wish. Her entire life seemed to be built around impossible wishes. She closed her eyes and leaned against the man she was dancing with. He held her in his arms as they continued to dance.

She sighed and lost herself in the warmth of his arms. Or perhaps it was the warmth of the alcohol in her system. Either way, it was a comfort to be pulled away from her thoughts and just enjoy the dance with the man. He was something to hold onto, and she often found him to be a healthy guiding force in her life. Her heart wasn't healed, but it wasn't broken anymore either. It was mended with gold, and all of her brokenness and flaws were showcased for all to see. It made her a more complete and complex person, and she would always be rich as long as she lived. If not in actual gold, than in a persistent happiness.

"Champagne. Cocaine. Gasoline. And most things in between."
